For every European company, defining its ESG strategy and its path to net zero will be the future licence to operate. Considering EU regulations, rising expectations from stakeholders, changing customer expectations, and market dynamics leave no doubt and have thus established the ESG agenda as a key priority for the C-suite.

Apart from the necessity to be compliant, every company has the opportunity and obligation to think beyond reducing its negative impact and validate whether it can be an accelerator or driver for the green transition. The question is, how do you want to position your company on the sustainability agenda, and what role do you want to play in and for your market?

While there are numerous paths to success, your company’s purpose, DNA, and identity can serve as a compass, guiding you in clarifying your ambition, role, and market position. It can help you identify growth and development opportunities that leverage your company’s inherent strengths and distinctiveness.

About Tradin Organic

Tradin Organic is the market leader in organic ingredients, supplying companies like Midsona, Naturli, and Orbaek. The company, which has its headquarters in Amsterdam, has over 500 employees and provides 150 products from over 60 origins. In 2020, Tradin Organic was acquired by Accomo, which initiated a change in the top management. When the organic market came under global pressure due to inflation and increased prices, Tradin Organic took the chance to reposition itself and rethink the impact of organic on the sustainability agenda to drive its own business and lead its market once again.

About Susie Hjorth
Susie Hjorth has a background as a senior leader at Arla Foods and DuPont, and was engaged by Tradin Organic in 2022 to lead the commercial transformation of the company. Soon after, she took the position of Commercial Director for Tradin Organic and acts today as a key figure for business development answering directly to the acting CEO.
Her talk will touch upon leading a company through its transformation, managing changing internal and external conditions, while still performing and impressing customers and industry experts at the biggest industry fair Biofach in 2024 with its new agenda.

About Kemp & Lauritzen

Kemp & Lauritzen is one of the leading installation companies in Denmark. When CEO Peter Kaas Hammer stepped in in late 2017, he set out on an ambitious mission to make Kemp & Lauritzen a people-driven company. During the past five years, Kemp & Lauritzen has been working hard to become Denmark’s leading green and digital technic partner – and one of the best places to work in the country. The case focuses on Kemp & Lauritzen’s transformation and how leadership training, large business development projects, digital development and focus on green transition have played a key role in transforming a 140-year-old company. Last year, Kemp & Lauritzen realized that their business had outgrown its own brand. Thus, the latest addition to the company’s transformation was the complete relaunch of the brand in February 2024.

About Louise Bjerregård Nielsen
Louise Bjerregård Nielsen was appointed Head of Sustainability at Kemp & Lauritzen in November 2022. In her role, she sets the direction, leads the company’s efforts towards sustainable transformation, and supports the company’s solutions portfolio and business development initiatives. Louise has experience from Topsoe (Head of Sustainability, Global Strategy & Innovation) and Novo Nordisk.
