In this Podcast series, Betina Nygaard from MA360.dk interviews industry experts and owner-managers on different aspects within the M&A field with the purpose of giving their best advice to the owner-managers who are currently considering selling their business.

According to Bain’s M&A Report 2023, 75% of acquirers still struggle with cultural issues that require serious interventions. Luckily, a growing number of companies and M&A teams have started to act, be curious, test, and learn to develop a framework for addressing culture and identity in M&As.

If you want to integrate a newly acquired company, start by mapping the identity of each company. Identify the gaps and similarities. From there, you can mitigate the risks and enhance the strengths. However, always remain critical and objective. If the cultures of the two companies are too disparate, the best solution might be to avoid forced integration. Instead, allow the two companies to coexist.

In this episode, our Senior Strategist, Beate Kornfeld, gives her advice on post-merger integration.
